The story of RAMSES began in the back of a limousine on February 15, 2010, when a small group of pioneering microsurgeons from diverse specialties and countries came together. Initially brought to Sunnyvale, California by Intuitive Surgical to help design new micro-instruments for the da Vinci system, the project never came to fruition. Yet, from this disappointment was born a greater vision: to unite as a society dedicated to advancing robotics in microsurgery. Out of that moment, RAMSES – the Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society – was created. Our first annual meeting was held in 2011, and since then we have gathered every year at venues across the globe, building a strong community of surgeons, researchers, and innovators. Each meeting has been led by a president committed to shaping the future of robotic microsurgery, and together we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible.
